Safety Training
The Marine Safety Division of the Nautical Institute provides a variety of safety related courses for deck/engineer officers and seafarers. A high degree of realism is sustained during training by use of the Institute's extensive fire fighting field, enclosed wave generation pool and dockside lifeboat facility. Most of the courses are a prerequisite for officer certification at an identified level or necessary before a student proceeds to sea. Information on course content, methodology and schedule are available from the Nautical Institute. Regulatory details are available at [www.tc.gc.ca] by following the links to "Canada Ship Act 2001" and then to "Marine Personnel Regulations".
