GMDSS/GOC and GMDSS/ROC training requirements for Deck Officers are mandated with consideration to the type of voyage the vessel makes. Officers employed on vessels making international voyages are required to have a GMDSS/GOC. Officers employed in local trade may not be required to obtain a GMDSS/GOC. ROCM is provided on a challenge examination basis with preparatory resources.
