School of Fisheries
The School of Fisheries offers a wide variety of training programs to meet the needs of the fish harvesting industry and for small vessel operators.
We provide training to students with varied educational and cultural backgrounds and adapt our training to meet individual learning needs along with regulatory and industry compliance.
Courses and training is offered at the School of Fisheries facility in Pictou, at locations throughout Nova Scotia and around the world. Our resources and equipment include:

Students considering courses in the areas of certification and training for fishing captain and crew must ensure they meet the requirements of Transport Canada by contacting the nearest Marine Safety office.
